Bookie is designed so that reading progress and notes do not need an account or server database.

Sent only on search
Your search query and selected filters are sent to Bookie’s same-origin search endpoint, which requests public book metadata from Google Books. The browser never receives the API key.
Your controls
Remove individual books, clear the shelf, export a JSON backup or clear this site’s storage in browser settings.
External links and covers
Google Books remains a separate service
When you submit a live search, Google Books may return cover images and external information links. Loading those images or opening those links connects to Google’s services under their own policies. Curated Bookie covers are local.
